Since December 2008, when the Madoff scandal was revealed, Deminor represents more than 1.200 investors in various Luxembourg based UCITS investment funds, such as Luxalpha, Herald Lux and Luxinvest, but also investors in offshore funds such as Thybo International, Hermes International, Fairfield, Kingate, and Plaza Investments, whose assets have been entrusted to and managed by Bernard Madoff Investment Securities LLC ("BMIS").
Various interactions exist between the UCITS and offshore funds monitored by Deminor and similar actions are undertaken for those funds, in order to possibly recover the investors' losses from the responsible institutions (i.e. custodian banks, management companies, auditors,...) .
Deminor has undertaken numerous actions since December 2008. Court or regulatory actions have been taken in Luxembourg, Monaco and the British Virgin Islands. Proceedings in the Netherlands are being prepared.
After successful pre-trial discovery actions who revealed the exact relationship between the involved financial institutions and BMIS, Deminor is now filing action for damages against the service providers and funds before the appropriate courts.
Since the very beginning of the case, Deminor is in dialogue with the international press. An update of our case was presented to the press on 20 October, 2009, which was simultaneously broadcasted through internet.
